Follow these steps to download
a free Douay-Rheims bible
accessible from your computer desktop!
1.  Save the following file to your local computer:  bible.chm (3.6 mb)

The specific steps to save the file may vary for different web browsers, for example:

  • For Mozilla Firefox, single click the above link with the right mouse button, then select Save Link As... in the menu.
  • For Microsoft Internet Explorer, single click the above link with the right mouse button, then select Save Target As... in the menu.
2. After saving the file to your local computer, it may be necessary to change the security settings for the file, as described in the steps below:
 
  1. Use the right mouse button to single click the Bible file you just downloaded to your local computer.
  1. Select Properties in the menu.
  1. Near the bottom on the Properties dialog, look for the Unblock button. If there is an Unblock button and it is not grayed out, click it.

 
  1. The Unblock button (if there is one) should now appear grayed out (as shown below).

 
3. The Bible should be ready for use. (Use the left mouse button to double click the Bible file you downloaded.)
