Response Card
For the proper pronunciation
of the Latin responses
This
card is intended for training altar servers to memorize the Latin
responses made during the traditional Roman Mass, though its
compact size allows for use while serving at the altar if
necessary.
|
|
The
card's front partitions contain the Latin responses with their corresponding English phonetic
renderings, conforming to the Roman Church’s method of pronouncing liturgical Latin
more romano (NB: corrects phonetic errors found in older
cards). Integral rubrical instructions for the liturgical gestures and reverences made
with the responses are also present, even for serving a bishop.
|
|
The back partitions of the card (accessed by opening the card completely)
feature helpful explanations and basic rules on more romano pronunciation and responding, a list of common pronunciation mistakes made by English-speakers, and even footnotes providing pertinent authoritative citations.

Perfect
for altar servers learning the Latin responses, makes a great gift
for seminarians and even priests just learning the traditional
Roman Mass (or pronouncing Latin in general). Ideal for the
